We recently hosted a successful cocktail evening at Palazzo Strozzi in Florence, raising funds for the important expansion of the Galeya Rogdha Clinic in a remote village in the Oromia region of Ethiopia. The event included a private viewing of the “Reaching for the Stars” exhibition,” a special raffle and a DJ set by DJ Heleni, with the presence of Carlo Conti, Leonardo Pieraccioni and Arthur Cabral adding to the atmosphere. The clinic, which serves about 5,000 people, including the marginalized Gumuz community, does not have an outpatient unit for mother and child, leaving women and newborns at risk. Funds raised will help build housing for staff, toilets and an outpatient clinic, ultimately improving access to healthcare and saving lives in the region.
