Last year, we were able to contribute to another well for the village of Zizencho through crowdfunding. Other organisations that have contributed include Binario per l’Africa, a volunteer organisation from Italy.
In 2012, Engera funded a well for Zizencho that provides clean water to all villagers, saving them a daily 5km walk. This new well, built in 2022, provides water to the Zizencho health center, daily patients and their families, the sisters who run the center, and the nearby elementary school. Most importantly, it means that the center no longer relies on rainwater and our medical staff has clean water to wash their hands, which prevents the spread of infectious diseases.
